HUTCHNSON, Kan. – A local man faces charges associated with the distribution of drugs after his arrest early Monday morning.
Police were called to the unit block of Swarens on the report of a suspicious subject. When they arrived, they found 35-year-old Joshua Bradbury sitting in his vehicle. When they asked him to step out of the vehicle, a baggie allegedly fell that contained a white powdery substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine. Police also allege that they found syringes and a scale.
Charges include possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute within a thousand feet of Wiley Elementary School, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package and no tax stamp.
He was also arrested on a warrant through Hutchinson Municipal Court for failing to appear on a charge of unlawful use of a communications device.
Bradbury has served time in prison for burglary, theft and obstruction charges for cases out of Saline County going back to 1999 and 2000.
Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen set a status hearing on the new felony charges for Dec. 31. That hearing will determine if the state has filed formal charges against him.
