Another change for the trial of a 30-year-old Hutchinson charged with having a number of weapons and a meth lab.
The trial for Roberto Rincon was originally scheduled to begin Tuesday was continued to Wednesday and now is continued to Thursday.
Roberto Rincon agreed to have a bench trial instead of a jury trial. The bench trial was to be at 1:30 p-m Wednesday, then was pushed to 3:30 p-m, but has now been pushed to 2:30 p-m Thursday. When the bench trial occurs, it’s supposed to be on stipulated facts. Judge Trish Rose will then decide whether he’s guilty or innocent.
He was arrested for being in possession of a firearm, in this case a fully automatic machine gun back on March 10, of 2012
Also, during a protection from abuse hearing, Judge Joe McCarville learned he had more weapons and ordered him to turn those weapons over to the Reno County Sheriff’s Department by 10 a-m, the next day. He failed to do so. That led to a search warrant being issued and other guns being seized.
During a search of his home and car, they allegedly discovered items associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine leading to the meth charges.
Again, a bench trial will be held Thursday afternoon, as its stands now.
