HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 28-year-old Hutchinson man charged with one count of aggravated battery has been bound over for trial after a preliminary hearing.
Matthew Cole allegedly beat 32-year-old Bobby Pinkston back on Sept. 15. Pinkston was found by police at a home in the 100 block of East Campbell and, according to earlier statements made in court, was barely conscious. He was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center where he later stated it was Cole who he got into a fight with.
Cole is no stranger to law enforcement with past convictions for drugs, criminal possession of a firearm and no tax stamp for a case that goes back to 2009. He has another conviction for aggravated battery for a case from 2007.
With him bound over, the case moves to arraignment early next month.
