HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 36-year-old man has been formally charged after an altercation where he allegedly threatened three people with a knife.
Randolph Christopher Cabral Jr. is formally charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.
He apparently got into an altercation at a home in the 500 block of North Van Buren. When police arrived, they allegedly found drugs and paraphernalia inside the home.
The incident occurred on Saturday, Oct. 30, according to police.
While appearing via video from the Reno County Correctional Facility, he again asked for a reduction in bond, noting that when he was arrested, there were seven charges and now there are only five. Assistant District Attorney Andrew Davidson noted to the judge that the bond was reduced last week from $21,000 to $15,000. He asked that the bond stay where it is and Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen agreed.
With the charges filed, the case will move to a waiver-status docket on Dec. 2.
