HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The U.S.D. 308 School Board completed its annual review of district personnel policies during its meeting Monday.
Under Coherent Governance, the board takes an in-depth look at each aspect of district operations during the year. Personnel policies were the focus at Monday’s meeting.
The board learned that all new employees and volunteers undergo background checks. The district is responsible for background checks on new employees, while Communities that Care screens all volunteers for the district with background checks.
The district also ensures that 100 percent of its employees meet legal requirements for their jobs and are best suited for those positions.
Also during Monday’s meeting, the board approved the purchase of two eight-passenger vans for student transportation from Midwest Superstore, the low bidder. They also approved sending two years worth of surplus computer equipment to recyclers.
