HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The 19-year-old man serving time in prison for numerous burglary and theft convictions is expected back before Judge Trish Rose Friday for sentencing after he entered a plea of conspiracy to traffic contraband inside the Hutchinson Correctional Facility.
Kevin Wilson was also charged with trafficking in contraband at the Hutchinson prison, but the state dropped that charge as a part of a plea agreement.
Wilson admitted that between Dec. 19, 2014, and Jan. 13 of this year he attempted to introduce items into the prison not allowed, including things like cell phones and cash.
He admitted that he conspired with 46-year-old Bryant Colbert to commit the crimes.
Wilson is serving time for burglary and theft convictions out of Sedgwick and Butler Counties.
Colbert is serving time for aggravated kidnapping, two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy, aggravated burglary and rape. Those convictions are all out of Montgomery County. He’s also charged in this case, but his case is still pending.
