HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 56-year-old Hutchinson man was arrested by police around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday on drug charges.
Antonio Vigil Sr. faces potential charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute within a thousand feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package, personal use drug paraphernalia and no tax stamp.
The arrest coming in the 500 block of North Grandview on the city’s east side when police received a call over residents using drugs. When they entered the home, they allegedly found Vigil with a razor blade, cutting some methamphetamine. He also allegedly had over $800 in cash in his pocket.
At the time of his arrest, bond was set at $29,000, however, after making an appearance via video from the Reno County Correctional Facility, Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen reduced the bond to $15,000.
Also arrested was 49-year-old Jose Lopez. He was taken to jail for failing to appear on charges of driving while suspended and interference with law enforcement.
Vigil has two convictions going back to the early 90s. In one case, he was convicted of making a terroristic threat. That was in 1992. The other conviction was for burglary in a case from 1993.
He’s expected back in court next week for the formal reading of charges.
