Hutchinson Animal Shelter appoints new Animal Services Manager

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The City of Hutchinson has announced that Stacy Cleaves will join the Hutchinson Animal Shelter to direct and manage the operations of Animal Services encompassing both the animal shelter and animal control operations.

Stacy Cleaves comes with a wealth of industry experience, having spent the last six years at the Kansas Humane Society in Wichita as the Assessment and Behavior Supervisor where she has been instrumental in managing shelter staff and developing a comprehensive assessment and behavior training program.

Prior to employment with the Kansas Humane Society, Stacy served two years at the Larimer Humane Society in Fort Collins, CO as the Shelter Manager after formerly working as a Buddy Center Technician at Dumb Friends League in Denver, CO for two years.

Stacy comments, “I am excited to join the Hutchinson Animal Shelter team. I look forward to getting to know the Hutchinson community and strive to work toward its’ goals for the shelter.”

City Manager John Deardoff said, “The city has engaged in a long and exhaustive search to find someone of Stacy’s caliber to lead our Animal Services division. We are excited that Stacy’s background, experience, and energy make her a perfect fit.”

Stacy Cleaves is scheduled to start her new position on Sept. 28.
