HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 25-year-old Beloit man arrested over a week ago in a home invasion case appeared via-video from the Reno County Correctional Facility where he was read the formal charges Monday.
Wayne A. Sprague has been charged by the state for aggravated burglary, two counts of aggravated battery, criminal threat and possession of methamphetamine.
The case starts when a Hutchinson woman reported to police that she awaken around 7 a.m. on Sunday Sept. 13, finding a man inside her home. She then ran to her bedroom where her husband was still asleep. the man identified as Wayne A Sprague followed her. He’s then alleged to have forced her onto the bed where he then began choking her. Her husband woke up and then began struggling with Sprague.
He remains jailed on a $60,000 bond and Judge Joe McCarville scheduled the case for a waiver-status docket on Oct. 14.
