HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The 67-year-old man jailed back in March on two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and who entered “guilty” pleas to both counts is scheduled for sentencing Friday.
John Robert Haney was arrested by Hutchinson Police Detective Scott Carlton for incidents involving two kids, ages eight and nine. According to Carlton, the sexual contact occurred over a three-month period.
The charges fall under Jessica’s Law, meaning he’s looking at a possible life sentence with no chance of parole for 25 years.
He remains jailed on a $150,000 bond and sentencing is scheduled in front of Judge Tim Chambers.
