HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 24-year-old Hutchinson man is jailed after he alleged fled a Hutchinson Police officer just before 2 am this morning.
Zachary Thompson was stopped by an officer in the 1000 block of Cochran on a traffic issue, but then fled the scene.
He was later arrested in the 700 block of East 10th, for felony flee and elude, felony interference with a law enforcement officer and driving while suspended. Thompson apparently struck a parked vehicle on East 10th.
He was at one time accused of “abuse of a child,” in a case from 2011, but entered a “no contest” plea to amended charge of aggravated battery.
Thompson also served time for attempted aggravated robbery, while the state dropped the second charge of aggravated assault. He was also convicted of aggravated battery for a case where he allegedly struck someone with a board. Those cases also from 2011.
He was paroled back on July 15.
His bond in the new case was set at $3,250 and he was able to post that bond, so he should make a first appearance at a later date.
