HUTCHINSON, Kan. Severe thunderstorms pushing through central Kansas this morning leaving a 
number of people in the dark, and causing downed power lines.
Westar Energy is reporting that more than 1,00 customers in Hesston and the surrounding area were without service, after storms rolled through the area round 4:45 this morning with winds of more than 60 miles per hour. Power lines are reported down in the Newton area and flooding is reported in several areas of McPherson County and street flooding is reported in the city of Lyons
No reports of any structural damage at this time.
