HUTCHINSON, Kan. – United Way of Reno County is partnering with Dillons for its third annual Day of Caring. The Dillons employees helped make a difference at six United Way partner agencies on Thursday.
The volunteers did a variety of much needed tasks to really get connected with the needs out in the community and to learn more about that agency.
They helped stock shelves at the Food Bank, stuff Back to School backpacks for First Call for Help. They repaired a front porch for Interfaith Housing and worked with kids at Hadley Day Care.
The volunteers also delivered Meals on Wheels. Dillons has taken a leadership role in this community by donating not only time but money.
Dillons store and office employees were the largest contributor to United Way of Reno County last year. They raised $123,913 for the 2014-2015 campaign with 77% of all their employees contributing.
The Day of Caring was a great way for the Dillons employees to actually see their gift at work.
If you would like to get more involved, United Way of Reno County will also host the Community Work Day on Saturday, Aug. 29. To learn more, please call United Way at 669-9329.
