HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The USD 308 Board of Education will be taking applications to fill the at-large position of Jennifer Mora Cook, who resigned her position July 1. The term expires Jan. 8, 2018.
Each applicant must complete and sign an application that is available at the Administration Center and return it to the clerk of the Board of Education, 1520 North Plum Street by noon on Friday, July 31. Applications may be delivered in person, sent by United States mail, correct postage prepaid, or sent by email addressed to carsonm@usd308.com. Applications sent by United States mail must be received by 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 30.
The responses to the questions on the application must be typewritten or printed. To be eligible for appointment to the Board of Education, applicant must be at least 18 years of age, a resident of the District, registered to vote in Reno County, Kansas, and is not employed by USD 308 in any capacity.
An applicant’s completed application is a public record and will be available for inspection at the District’s administrative office in accordance with the Kansas Open Records Act.
At a special meeting of the Board at 7 p.m. on Aug. 3, 2015, individuals who have applied for the unexpired term will be given three minutes to talk about their desire to be on the board, followed by a series of questions from the current board.
