Hutchinson woman arrested after chase with law enforcement formally charged
HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A Hutchinson woman involved in a high-speed chase with law enforcement on June 28 was back in court Wednesday for the formal reading of charges.
Brandi Harrington gas been formally charged with felony flee and elude, possession of stolen property, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while suspended.
It all started when Reno County Sheriff Deputy Josh White observed a white Ford F-150 in the area of Sun City Road and Partridge Road which matched the description of the stolen vehicle report.
After the deputy attempted to make a traffic stop, the chase started and ended at Partridge Road and Blanchard. Law Enforcement used stop sticks twice during the chase, which eventually ended it.
She has another case where she was arrested for DUI in March while the complaint indicates that this would be her third in the last 10-years.
With the formal charges filed, the case will move to a future waiver-status docket.
Ex-con charged with aggravated assault again denied O-R bond
HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 34-year-old ex-con recently discharged from prison was back in court Wednesday to hear the formal charge filed by the state against him.
Alonzo Moore was arrested on June 30 and is now charged with aggravated assault where he allegedly threatened a 17-year-old female with a knife in the 200 block of East 4th.
Moore is jailed on a $5,000 bond and again requested a signature of OR bond. The judge denied the request again, but Moore kept asking, at times interrupting the judge while appearing via-video from the Reno County Jail. Moore told the judge he couldn’t understand why he wouldn’t give him one saying he’s never had one, plus says Moore, “I didn’t even do anything.” The judge finally told a jail guard to disconnect him.
The case against Moore will now be moved to a waiver-status docket on August 5, in front of Judge Joe McCarville.
Moore served time in prison for convictions of aggravated assault, two counts of theft and flee and elude for cases going back to 2012. He was discharged from that sentence on May 11.
Hutch man who ran from police makes court appearance
HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 22-year-old Hutchinson man who led police on a foot chase on Tuesday made a first appearance where he was told of the potential charges against him.
Justin Dean Pisoni faces potential charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with law enforcement and another charge of driving while suspended. He also has another case pending in District Court as well.
A Hutchinson Police officer spotted him driving near the Dillon’s store near 4th & Pershing and knew he had an outstanding warrant. He then tried to do a traffic stop. Pisoni stopped the vehicle he was driving, but then ran leading to the foot chase with officers. He was eventually tackled by an officer and taken into custody.
After they made the arrest, they found the drugs and paraphernalia on him.
His bonds now total $11,750 and he’ll be back in court on July 15 for a status hearing to see off the state has filed formal charges.
