One of two people arrested after a drug related search late Wednesday night caught a break from Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen Thursday morning.
33-year-old Brian Nelson was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and Judge McEwen lowered his bond from 3-thousand to 500-dollars.
The co-defendant, 22-year-old Kassie Laughlin of 1108 Orchard was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package marijuana for sale and personal use drug paraphernalia.
Officers found in her bedroom a glass jar which contained the alleged marijuana. They also found inside her purse a pipe with marijuana residue. In the kitchen, they found an open box of sandwich bags and another bag with marijuana residue. Allegedly, both her and Nelson admitted to smoking marijuana.
Her effort to get her 85-hundred dollar bond lowered was denied in part because of a 7-month- old child being inside the residence while they were smoking the pot.
Both will be back in court of August 14.
