The latest county sales tax numbers from County Treasure Clark Miller show the county collected more in sales tax in May then in April, but less then in May of last year.
The county collected 369-thousand, 211-dollars in May compared to 314-thousand 214-dollars in April, a difference of nearly 55-thousand dollars. But, the May number is lower then May 2012, when the county brought in 66-hundred dollars more. The number for that month was 375-thousand, 816-dollars.
So far, the county numbers for the year are beating last year slightly, by about 43-thousand dollars.
The total for this year so far is roughly 1-million, 799-thousand, 258-dollars compared with 1-million 756-thousand, 115-dollars for the same period last year.
