HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Two Illinois girls missing since last Wednesday have been taken into custody 
after they were found in Hutchinson.
Sterling, Ill., police reported that 14-year-old Gabriell Cox and 15-year-old Britthany Mercedes Santos were reported missing May 20 and were thought to have connections to several areas of the country, including Hutchinson. An adult who is not a relative cooperated and notified HPD that the girls were in the city. Both were taken into custody around 3 p.m. at a home at 305 N. Grandview. Arrangements are being made to return the girls back to Illinois.
It’s not known why the girls came to Hutchinson or why they left their home state.
