Flooding continues to be a major problem in Hutchinson and Reno County where more than 6 inches of rain fell overnight, which overwhelmed the city’s storm water system. Numerous cars were left stranded and the Hutchinson Fire department asked residents to stay at home. Hospira and Dillon Liver Center retirement homes were forced to evacuate residents after water poured into both facilities. The Ninnascah and Arkansas Rivers are expected to crest Sunday night, or early Monday morning, causing mostly low land flooding. More rain is in the forecast which could cause more problems.
