Hutchinson prison officials are looking for an escaped inmate. At approximately 1:30 p-m, an inmate was found to be missing from the Hutchinson Correctional Facility South Unit in Hutchinson.
The inmate is identified as Mark Edward Lucas, white male, 44 years old, 6 foot tall and 180 lbs. He was incarcerated for aggravated burglary and theft convictions from Shawnee County. His release date is May 2, 2023.
He was found missing during an informal count that was being conducted at the HCF South Unit which houses minimum custody inmates. Information concerning the missing inmate has been released to law enforcement agencies in the state. Due to an ongoing investigation, additional information is not available at this time.
