HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The collection of food for the Reno County Food bank is down from last year according to U.S. Postal officials here in Hutchinson, although they say the number could still increase.
As of the end of collections on Saturday for the annual food drive, they collected 23,643 pounds of non-perishable items. Last year, they collected around 25,000 pounds.
They tell us they expected more food items would be collected, so the number for this year is expected to increase some.
All of the food collected goes to the Reno County Food bank to help those less fortunate in our community.
