Hutch man charged with intentional arson
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 28-year-old Hutchinson man was back in court Wednesday morning where he was told the state filed formal charges against him.
Charles Crumble is accused of intentional arson and interference with law enforcement for an incident back on April 29.
He’s accused of intentionally causing damage to an apartment by means of fire or explosives in the 400 block of East A. He’s also alleged to have resisted arrest over the arson case.
Madeline Bastion, who was the occupant of the apartment, was also in court on a charge of interference with law enforcement.
Both of their cases will now move to future waiver-status dockets.
Judge sets hearing date for suspect in stabbing case
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The preliminary hearing for a 32-year-old man charged with aggravated battery for allegedly stabbing a 30-year-old man after the two got into an argument over money is scheduled for Thursday.
It was back on Feb. 23 when officers were dispatched to the area of 12th & Monroe and found Brandon Zeh with a stab wound to his chest. He was transported to an area hospital and underwent emergency surgery.
Back on Feb. 6, Sims had been granted community corrections for crimes that included two counts of theft, forgery and giving a worthless check. Those crimes go back to July of last year. There’s also a hearing scheduled Thursday over whether to revoke those corrections
Sims in no stranger to law enforcement or the courts with other convictions that go back to 2001 and 2007, including flee and elude and theft.
Preliminary hearing in drug distribution case scheduled for Thursday
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 35-year-old man accused in a drug distribution case is scheduled for court tomorrow for a preliminary hearing.
Bruce Alexander II is charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute, criminal possession of a firearm, defacing identification marks on a firearm and personal use drug paraphernalia.
The case against Alexander involves a drug-related search being served on his home back on Oct. 22, 2014. Officers allegedly found new and used packaging materials, digital scales with crystal residue, a glass pipe with burnt residue, a Benelli 12-gauge shotgun with the serial number filed off and two grams of methamphetamine.
He has two prior felonies for aggravated assault that will work against him if convicted.
