McPHERSON, Kan. – The McPherson County Attorney’s office has dismissed all charges against a McPherson man in connection with the death of another man.
Police arrested 23-year-old Loren Kleinschmidt last week in connection with the death of 64-year-old Kinley Cobb. Officers responded to the 100 block of North Maple in McPherson a week ago Sunday on the report of two people who may have been intoxicated.
When officers arrived, they found Kleinschmidt and Cobb. Investigators say Cobb had serious injuries and was taken to a hospital in McPherson. He was later transferred to a hospital in Wichita where he died from those injuries. Kleinschmidt was taken into custody in connection with Cobb’s death.
Police announced yesterday that after new information came in Kleinschmidt was released and the charges were dismissed.
Police are again asking that anyone with any information about this case to come forward.
