HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Reno County Commissioners are ready to take action on a rate increase for the landfill during their regular agenda session on Tuesday.
The landfill wants to increase tonnage rates for the five counties that use the landfill by $.75 per ton, and a similar increase per year for Reno County residents. The increase would make the total landfill assessment on a resident’s taxes $70.75.
Rates for the five outside counties that use the landfill would go up in the next budget year while Reno County residents won’t see the increase until the fall of 2016. Also Tuesday the Commission will seek approval of a contract with APAC Shears of Hutchinson to resurface Prarie Dunes Drive and Linksland Drive at a cost of just under $223 thousand.
Tuesday’s meeting of the Reno County Commission begins at 9 a.m. at the Reno County Courthouse.
