HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Sales tax collections for the county dropped in March from the numbers in Feb. According to County Treasurer Jan Hull, the county collected $345,432 in March compared to $458,017 in Feb. That’s a difference of $112,585.
The sales tax collection numbers for March are also less then what the county brought in March of last year when they collected $363,344.
So far this year, the county has collected $1,189,779 which is slightly ahead of the amount collected for same period last year when they collected $1,150,599. That’s a difference of $39,200.
Taxes collected for the month of March reflect sales in January.
