HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Fees for the Salt City Splash could be on the way up if the Hutchinson City Council approves a request from the Hutchinson Rec Commission.
The Rec Commission is asking for a nearly 10 percent increase of fees for the pool which has seen its city subsidy increase by 155 percent in the past four years. The current fees have been in place since 2009. Under the proposal, fees would go up from $1.75, $3.50 and $4.75 to $2, $4 and $5.75. Season passes would also increase from $25, $50 and $60 to $30, $60 and $70. The pool would also like to create a rate for people over age 62 with a $4 admission and a season pass for $60. The city subsidized the pool by more than $49 thousand in 2014. The increase would generate about $15 thousand in 2015, based on 2014 attendance figures.
The proposal is part of the City Council’s consent agenda during Tuesday’s regular meeting.
