HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The county sales tax numbers released Tuesday by County Treasurer Jan Hull show the county collected more in January then last month and also January of 2014.
According to the numbers, the county collected $386,329.60 in January compared to the $363,232. collected in December. That’s over $23,000 more then last month. The number also beat the collections in January of 2014 when the number was $369,605.84. The January numbers reflect sales in the county for the month of November.
The sales tax collections for the new jail are also a jump from the December number. The county collected $476,000 in January compared to $447,576 in December and also more then in January of last year when the total was $454,783. The total for January also reflects sales in November.
