HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce announced in a news release that LeAnn Cox has been promoted to Vice President of Operations & Tourism. She will have the primary responsibility of supervising day to day operations as it relates to the Chamber of Commerce and Convention/Visitors Bureau, and will continue to be the program director of the CVB.
“We are thrilled to make this announcement today,” said Jason Ball, President of Chamber. “LeAnn has been an important part of the development of the Chamber. Her contributions to the Chamber have made us a stronger organization, and this transition will help us better respond to the desires and needs of our members.”
“I’m very excited for this opportunity,” said Cox. “I’m looking forward to working more closely with our members. I appreciate the confidence Jason has in me, as well as the support of the Board of Directors.”
Cox joined the Greater Hutchinson Convention/Visitors Bureau (CVB) in 1995 as Convention Sales Manager, and became the Director of the CVB in August 2004. She is a member of the Travel Industry Association Board of Directors, serves as Secretary of their Executive Committee, is a member of the Board of Directors of the KS Cosmosphere & Space Center, and serves on the Public Facilities Advisory Committee for the City of Hutchinson.
“It is an exciting time in the community, and a very exciting time to be part of at the Chamber of Commerce,” said Ball. “The membership is so dedicated and engaged in the community, we have an amazing team of staff at the Chamber, and now we have some much need additional management. I’m expecting more great things to happen in 2015.”
