Two formally charged with aggravated robbery at a local motel

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The two people arrested after a Hutchinson woman reported to police that she had been robbed were back in court Wednesday where they were read the formal charges against them.

30-year-old Anthony Everhart and 20-year-old Francesca Wharton have been charged with aggravated robbery. Everhart is also charged with possession of methamphetamine.

The two were taken into custody back on October 15. The 23-years-old victim Tara Moeller was apparently lured to the Days Inn Motel by the two when they allegedly held her at gunpoint and took a Zebra print purse and its contents.

Everhart was also read a amended complaint in another case where he’s charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package drugs for distribution.

Everhart was in court back in July on meth distribution charges. He was arrested along with 24-year-old Kylie Berry. They were arrested when officers served a search warrant on a home and say they found a little over three grams of methamphetamine and the other drugs. The residence is located within a thousand feet of Wiley Elementary School. He also has a third case

Wharton has two other cases pending against her including four counts of forgery in one and traffic in contraband into a correctional facility in the other.

Everhart has a bond of $30,000, while Wharton’s is set at $25,000 in the latest case, but totals $200,000 for probation violations and pending cases.
