HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Police and EMS worked two injury accidents less than 90 minutes apart Tuesday afternoon.
EMS responded to 17th and Halstead after 19-year-old Alex Sumner made a left turn in front of an oncoming car driven by 66-year-old James Searcy of Hutchinson. Searcy and his wife Norma were both taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment of various injuries. Sumner was uninjured. The accident happened just after 4 p.m.
Not long after that, Police and EMS responded to the report of a car/ bicycle accident. 65-year-old Donald Gress was making a turn in the 400 block of North Plum when he hit a bicycle ridden by 35-year-old Brandon Rogers. Rogers was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The accident happened just before 5:30 p.m.
