FLOOD WARNING FOR…NORTHERN RENO AND SOUTHEASTERN RICE COUNTY

UNTIL 945 AM CDT THURSDAY

LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED FLOODING FOR SEVERAL ROADS ALONG COW CREEK IN THE WARNED AREA.

RECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE TO CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS…COUNTRY ROADS…AS WELL AS FARMLAND ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.

A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. IF YOU ARE IN THE WARNING AREA MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY. RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG STREAMS AND CREEKS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS SWIFTLY FLOWING WATERS OR WATERS OF UNKNOWN DEPTH BY FOOT OR BY AUTOMOBILE.

Some road closing because of flooding here in Reno County

Sallee Rd. from 82nd to 108th
Pennington Rd., from Nickerson Blvd to 50th
43rd from Hendricks to Pennington
50th from Pennington to Wilson Roads
69th from Wilson to Pennington
95th from Wilson to Dean
and Wilson Rd., from 82nd to 69th

In Rice County, 22nd Road or Hunter Blvd, is closed from Sterling Road to Saxman Rd., and Sterling Road from 22nd Road to Plum are closed

They received a large amount of rain in Rice and Barton Counties over the weekend and some again last night.
