HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Motorist who still use old K-61 highway to get around will enjoy some major improvements.
The County recently finished a complete resurfacing of the road from 43rd Avenue to Medora. It’s the only usable stretch of road left after the new four lane was constructed. County Public Works says the road will be closed in areas again in the near future so that shoulder work can be completed.
The city and County would like to add or establish bike lanes along the road in the future to connect to the new Sand Hills State Park and the new city park along 43rd Avenue.
