CHENEY, Kan. — Rescue crews converged on Cheney Reservoir Wednesday afternoon after a jet skier went missing.
According to officials at Cheney State Park two people were on one jet ski when the passenger jumped of the craft and told his friend to go catch some waves. When the rider returned to the area he couldn’t find his friend. Crews found the skier about an hour after he apparently drifted with the wind to the other side of the lake. Responders found the man around 5 p.m. The man’s name was not released and he did not appear to have suffered any serious injuries. Park officials say the man was in the water for about an hour.
The man was wearing a life vest.
