HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The 26-year-old man arrested recently for the sale of drugs and charged with racketeering is expected in court again Wednesday morning for a status hearing.
In addition, Jeremy Jiles waived his preliminary hearing in another case against him from last year.
The three cases from this year have been combined into one complaint and include a charge of racketeering. There has been some question as to whether he would retain Wichita Attorney Charlie O’Hara to represent him. The status hearing Wednesday will determine the outcome of the issue and how the case will proceed.
The latest arrest came in June where he is charged with being in possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package drugs, possession of a personal use drug paraphernalia, criminal possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana. But, he had three other cases pending, including an earlier case from this year.
The Reno County Drug Unit served a search warrant on his home in the 100 block of George. They allege that they found two vacuum sealed bags with marijuana. They also claim to have found a digital scale with marijuana residue on it, two gallon size zip-close bags with green vegetation, as well as additional new bags. Officers say they also found a pair of brass knuckles in a dresser drawer.
Jiles was arrested on Sept. 20, 2013, and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package, personal use drug paraphernalia and no tax stamp. He’s accused of having more then 450 grams of marijuana, as well as packaging materials.
Jiles was also arrested on Sept. 20, 2013, and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package, personal use drug paraphernalia and no tax stamp. He’s accused of having more then 450 grams of marijuana, as well as packaging materials.
That case may go to trial at this point.
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — After the preliminary hearing for Raymond Kimball was continued last week, it’s scheduled to be held Wednesday.
The state indicated last week that some of its law enforcement witnesses were in training and would not be available. They apparently didn’t realize that Kimball was in prison, so no order was made to have him transported from the Hutchinson Correctional Facility to court.
Kimball is charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with a prior conviction, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package and no drug tax stamp.
Drug Unit Detectives say they found a white rocky substance, green leafy vegetation, a digital scale, and new and used packaging inside the home. The white rocky substance tested positive for cocaine and weighed about 25 grams. The green leafy substance field tested for marijuana and weighed about 4.3 grams.
He was arrested with 24-year-old Holly Caudillo. A hearing for the charges against her are also pending.
Kimball is being housed at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility on a parole violation.
