HUTCHINSON, Kan. — As promised, the Reno County Commission will have an evening meeting over next year’s budget.
They will have the special meeting Wednesday in the Hutchinson Public Library Auditorium. It will start around 7 p.m. and the public is welcome to comment and ask questions.
The formal public hearing on the budget is on August 20 and, as it stands now, the mill levy will be go up by one mill to 39.603 mills.
That increase includes adding a cost of living adjustment on top of step increases for employees of the county with 50 percent coming from sales tax dollars and the other 50 percent from the employee benefit fund. They expect to get a rebate again on insurance which would offset the cost.
Again, the special meeting on the budget is Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. at the Hutchinson Public Library at 9th & Main, just south of the Eagle Media Center.
