HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Reno County Commissioners will get an update on the Cottonwood Hills property during tomorrow’s regular agenda session.
The stillborn golf and housing development was recently purchased by a Wichita Developer after Hutchinson native Lane Naville failed to gather the financial support to finish the project. Sir Nick Faldo designed the difficult course, but it closed three years ago. The housing development and infrastructure never materialized. County Administrator Gary Meaghr says they have met with the new owner several times and hope to have more information on the future of the golf course. He also plans for some housing development there soon.
Also tomorrow, the county will set a public hearing date for the budget. The budget for 2015 totals $57.5 million on levied taxes of $21.7 million. It calls for a one mill tax for road improvements, similar to the one mill levy that is in place for bridges.
Tomorrow’s meeting of the Reno County Commission begins at 9 a.m. at the Reno County Court House.
