Hutchinson, Kan. — United Way of Reno County partnered with Dillon’s Stores for its second annual Day of Caring.
Dillon’s employees helped at six United Way funded agencies as well as at the United Way office last Friday. The volunteers did a variety of tasks, plus learned more about that agency. Activities included stocking shelves at the Food Bank, stuffing Back to School backpacks for First Call for Help, painting at the Hospice House and cleaning out the American Red Cross Emergency Vehicle. Volunteers also cleaned out a house for Interfaith Housing that will be refurbished and delivered to Meals on Wheels.
Dillon’s store and office employees were the largest contributor to United Way of Reno County last year raising $131,050 for the 2013-2014 campaign with 82% of its employees contributing.
