Curtis Richardson 2

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 38-year-old man’s altercation with police early Tuesday morning landed him in jail on charges which includes felony interference with law enforcement, battery of a law enforcement officer, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Curtis Richardson of Hutchinson was taken to jail on a bond of $9,500 after police allegedly found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in his person. This occurred in the 700 block of 17th, just after 1 a.m.

Richardson is no stranger to law enforcement with a conviction for possession of a precursor to manufacture drugs from a case in October of 1999. Earlier that year, he was arrested and eventually convicted of unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine. He served time in prison for those convictions.

He appeared in court Tuesday where Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen left the bond the same and set a status hearing for July 30.
