HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson City Council has a budget in place. A public hearing will be held August 5th to go over the numbers for the 2015 fiscal year.
The total budget is $66.8 million on levied taxes of $12.5 million. If approved, the mill levy will increase by 1.7 mills to 43.2 mills. While the Council asked for cuts to it’s capital outlay for public facilities, they did decide to add the purchase of a new fire truck into the budget for next year due to concerns over the age of the current fleet.
The public hearing for the 2015 budget is set for the Council meeting August 5th and will likely come up for approval during the regular agenda session August 19th.
