HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The unemployment rate for the city of Hutchinson jumped by a half percentage point from the previous month, according to figures released today by the Kansas Department of Labor.
The jobless rate for the city in the month of June was 4.9%, up from 4.4% the previous month. It’s still lower than the 5.9% unemployment rate recorded in June of 2013. The County unemployment rate also increased from 4.2% in May to 4.6% in June. It was 5.5% in June of 2013. There were 1,534 county resident with out jobs in June, 1,018 of them were in the city of Hutchinson.
Across the state, the jobless rate increase by just a tenth of a percent to 4.9%
