TOPEKA, KAN. – A Hutchinson man has been keeping a secret for nearly three weeks. The secret: he’s the winner of a $230,000 Super Kansas Cash jackpot!

The player, who asked the Lottery not to identify him publicly, matched all numbers in the June 28 drawing. The winning numbers were: 5-8-17-18-28 Super Cashball 21. The player let the computer pick the first five numbers of his winning play and he picked the Cashball number himself.

“I always do that,” he said. “I pick the Cashball based on birth dates and things like that.”

The winner said he kept his winning ticket in a safe deposit box until claiming it at Lottery headquarters. He plans to pay bills with his prize and cut down on the number of overtime hours he’s working in order to spend more time with his children.

“While I didn’t win millions, this is definitely going to change my life,” he said.

Super Kansas Cash jackpots are paid in a cash lump sum. After federal and state income withholding taxes are paid, the winner receives a payment in the amount of $161,000.

The jackpot-winning player purchased his lucky ticket at Pic Quik 10, located at 1630 E. 30th Ave., in Hutchinson. For selling the ticket, the store becomes eligible for a $1,000 bonus.

The Super Kansas Cash jackpot for Saturday is an estimated $180,000.
