CASTLETON, Kan. — A three -vehicle accident at the intersection of Arlington Road and K-14 injured three people, one of them critically.
According to the Kansas Highway patrol, 92-year-old James Richy of Haven was going west on Arlington Road when he failed to yield to a south bound SUV driven by 30-year-old Brooksie Conroy of Hutchinson. The SUV hit the car in the passenger side knocking it through a fence, and into a field at the intersections southwest corner. The SUV then deflected off a utility truck driven by 51-year-old Neil Unruh of Haviland, who was stopped at the intersection.
A passenger in the Richy vehicle, 65-year old Ollie Richy was airlifted by Lifeteam helicopter to a Wichita hospital in critical condition. James Richy was taken by EMS to Hutchinson Regional medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Conroy suffered an ankle injury, but was not transported. Unruh was uninjured.
The accident happened just after 8 a.m, about two miles north of Castleton, or about 10 miles south of Hutchinson.
