PRETTY PRAIRIE, Kan. – A 19 year old Pretty Prairie man who was taken to jail on a number of charges after he apparently crashed a vehicle that authorities say was stolen, appeared in court Wednesday for the formal reading of charges.
Chavez Williams was arrested after the crash at Pretty Prairie Road and Dean Road around 5:10 a.m., Friday morning.
He’s now charged with felony theft, DUI, no drivers license, illegal consumption of liquor, and illegal transportation of liquor.
Williams lost control of the vehicle and crashed, but escaped serious injury. He was checked by EMS at the scene but was not transported to the hospital.
He’s free on a bond of $2,300, and his next scheduled court appearance will be on July 23.
