HUTCHINSON, Kan. — As expected, Reno County Commissioners have appointed Brad Wright to the position of County Appraiser during Tuesday’s agenda session.
Wright replaces Michael Brooks, who will step down as the Appraiser next week. County Administrator Gary Meaghr says they will take time to see what direction they want to go in filling the position. Although the county must have a full time appraiser under state law, that law changes July 1, to allow for an Interim Appraiser. How that affects Wright position isn’t known yet.
Also Tuesday, the Board approved the consent agenda which includes a new contract with the County Juvenile Detention Center and 33 other counties for services.
