HUTCHINSON, Kan. — It’s time for the annual US Post office letter carriers food drive. This is a chance to leave food items at your PO box, and help the local food bank.
Angie Fabian with the Hutchinson Post Office says that you can always leave canned goods, along with other food items such as quick prepare box meals, like Hamburger Helper or mac and cheese. Peanut butter is also a good item to leave as well as pancake mix. The goal for this year is 30,000-pounds of food, which would break the all time high set last year. Again, all items donated go to the local food bank.
If you miss out on leaving food at your PO box Saturday, you can always leave on Monday and the letter carrier will pick it up then.
