A 29-year-old Hutchinson woman was sentenced to just over 2-years Friday by Judge Joe McCarville for in a gun incident last summer.
Laura Enriquez was arrested back in July on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of criminal discharge of a firearm, criminal damage to property over a thousand dollars, felony flee and elude, driving under the influence and illegal transportation of liquor.
She was convicted of kicking in a back door of a home in the 800 block of West 22nd, where an argument ensued with the occupant of the home. She then fired a round at that residence which traveled through the home and exited a window. One adult and some small children were in the home at the time.
Then around 4 a-m, she was at another home where she fired three rounds, one struck a vehicle through the back window and into a head rest. Two other rounds entered the home in the 16-hundred block of Landon, where and adult women and her grandchildren were inside.
She was also convicted of leading Hutchinson Police on a high speed chase for 15-minutes which ended in the 2700 block of North Tyler. She apparently left the vehicle at that location and was found hiding behind some bushes. All this occurring on or around July 20, of last year.
The gun involved was a 22-caliber weapon and at one location, police found 3-spent shells and 3-other live rounds were found in the gun itself.
Luckily, no one was injured from this incident.
