One person was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center after a one vehicle crash east of Hutchinson Monday evening. The accident was reported in 3400 block of North Kent Rd.,
When deputies and EMS arrived, 16-year-old Selina Manche was out of the vehicle but complained of head and neck pain.
She was apparently heading south on Kent Rd., when a deer ran out in front of her. She told deputies she avoided the deer by jerking the wheel to the left. This caused her 2000 Ford Focus, to lose traction on the dirt road. Her vehicle then went off the roadway and into the east ditch. It then struck a culvert which caused it to roll several times. The vehicle came to a rest on it’s wheels. She was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
Deputy Jack Trussell worked the accident and says he could see tire marks on Kent Rd. The tire marks shows she traveled just over 100-feet after leaving the roadway. The marks in the ditch and the condition of the car confirmed she rolled several times before coming to a stop. The airbags deployed as a result from the accident.
The accident occurring just before 8:30 p-m.
