While One of three suspects allegedly involved in the burglary of Westphal Jewelers entered “guilty” pleas as charged, another will face a jury, and the third has yet to have a preliminary hearing.

34-year-old Kenya Demond Breakfield aka “Smooth” was bound over for a possible trial and was in court Friday afternoon where Judge Rose set a trial date of August 20 and a motion deadline of July 19.

Breakfield faces charges including burglary non-dwelling, theft and a more serious charge of criminal damage to property which could be as much as 53-thousand dollars to repair damage to the building.

38-year-old Derrick Glover, aka “Hustle” entered the plea in front of Judge Trish Rose to burglary, felony theft, criminal damage to property and conspiracy to commit burglary on Monday of last week.

44-year-old Francis Johnson aka “Fingers” was interviewed by Detective Jamie Schoenhoff and pretty much implicated himself and the other two. He has yet to have a preliminary hearing. He is serving time for two burglary convictions here in Reno County, but he also has a long wrap sheet for crimes in Reno, Harvey, Sedgwick and Shawnee Counties.

The three are also suspected of doing the same thing at an OK Pawn Shop in Wichita, only allegedly used a stolen vehicle to break into the front of that store.
