Strong and gusty south winds will elevate the grassland fire danger into the extreme category across central Kansas this afternoon. Moisture will increase across southern Kansas by the afternoon with a chance for showers. Temperatures will be a little milder with highs ranging from the middle 50s to the lower 60s.
