Starting Monday, emergency vehicles arriving in the ambulance garage at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center will be limited to a single lane for entering and departing as a result of construction underway in this area.
The change is a part of the year-long construction project that will nearly double the size of the Emergency Department that serves more than 25,000 patients annually.
Visitors to this area will notice an electronic sign to the west of the emergency department alerting patients of these changes.
Patients arriving for emergent care in non-emergency or private vehicles will be directed to an area adjacent to the emergency department to unload patients, and will be required to park in the southwest corner of the main hospital parking lot.
Progress continues on a new lobby for the emergency department and, at this week’s end, several of the permanent walls are framed in.
Weekly updates will be posted to the Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System website at www.hutchregional.com on an as needed basis.
